We are pleased to present Gina Proenza’s permanent piece, an illuminated sign visible from the outside.
This gleaming braid is the support of the All Stars. Between shooting and climbing, this seven-pointed star is the elastic of a strange plait. The star, ready to be picked or stolen, is attached to its grape like a trophy to be won or a fruit about to fall. This luminous sign twists itself to become also the metaphor of an escape, from the sheet that one hangs on the bars of a window to the weaves thrown to emancipating loves.
The work of Gina Proenza (1994, Bogota) is based on narratives that blend anthropological research, ancestral tales and legends and literature. She has exhibited in solo shows at CAN, in Neuchatel, Centre Culturel Suisse, in Paris, Tunnel Tunnel, in Lausanne, Liste Art Fair, in Basel. As well as in numerous group exhibitions, among Kunsthalle St-Gallen, Circuit, in Lausanne, Kunsthaus Langenthal, Last Tango, in Zürich.
